BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
MARKETING The Business Marketing program prepares high school students for careers in the field of business management and administration, as well as, marketing. Rigorous instruction is provided to equip learners with knowledge and skills for college and career readiness. Courses provide an overview of career opportunities, which are available in every sector of the economy and requires specific skills in organization, time management, customer service, communication, sales, and effective use of technology. Extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction is reinforced through learner participation in the career technical student organization Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). The Wildcat Den is a school store operated as a part of the Business Marketing program to give students real-world hands-on experience by managing and operating the store. Students interested in enrolling in the Wildcat Den will complete an application and will interview for a position. This program is for students who are interested in careers that involve designing, implementing, and maintaining computer systems and software for desktop and web-based applications. Courses provide an overview of the knowledge and skills required in computer operating systems, programming languages, and software development. Extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction is reinforced through learner participation in the career technical student organization Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Industry Recognized Credentials Offered: Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Introduction to Programming using HTML & CSS, Information Technology This program is for students who are interested in careers that involve information technology security, network analysis, planning, and implementation, including design, installation, repair, maintenance, and management of network systems. Courses provide an overview of the knowledge and skills required in network and systems administration . Extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction is reinforced through learner participation in the career technical student organization Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). wildcat Entrepreneurs Academy (wEA)
The Wildcat Entrepreneurs Academy (WEA) is a year-long program that teaches high school students how to start and run their own REAL businesses. Benjamin Russell High School has partnered with the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce to provide students the opportunity to participate in a "Shark Tank" like experience where students create a new business and make a presentation to an investor panel. Students can be awarded for their business creativity and presentation skills.
