Business Management/Administration and marketing

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
This program prepares high school students for careers in the field of business management and administration, as well as, marketing. Rigorous instruction is provided to equip learners with knowledge and skills for college and career readiness. Courses provide an overview of career opportunities, which are available in every sector of the economy and requires specific skills in organization, time management, customer service, communication, and effective use of technology. Extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction is reinforced through learner participation in the career technical student organization Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
Industry Recognized Credentials Offered:  Microsoft Office Specialist (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)

MARKETING

This program is for students who are interested in pursuing careers in marketing. Courses provide an overview of career
opportunities, which are available in every sector of the economy and requires individuals working in marketing to become familiar with topics including sales, marketing, customer service, telecommunications, research, and media.  

The Wildcat Den is a school store operated as a part of the marketing program to give students real-world hands-on experience.

Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA)

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a year-long program that teaches middle and high school students how to start and run their own REAL businesses.  YEA! was developed at the University of Rochester in 2004 with the support of a grant from the Kauffman Foundation. The Alexander City Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor YEA in partnership with the Alexander City School System.  For more information you may contact Mandi Durr at Benjamin Russell High School or Jacob Meacham ​at the Chamber of Commerce.
